The DGHS (Directorate General of Health Service) on Sunday informed two national women cricketers, infected by the Omicron variant, are quite well and stable now.

In a health bulletin on the Covid-19 situation on Sunday, DGHS Director (Disease Control) and spokesperson Dr Nazmul Islam also said the two women cricketers underwent another Corona test today and if they test negative in the reports, they are likely to be freed to go to their respective homes.

Three members of the Bangladesh women’s national cricket team were shifted to Mugda Medical College and Hospital from Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on last Tuesday.

Two of them were infected with the Omicron variant, while the other had contracted the Delta variant.

Earlier the BCB informed that the other women’s team members got released from quarantine after they tested negative.

Bangladesh national women’s team earlier arrived in Dhaka from Zimbabwe on December 1 after securing their maiden berth in the ICC Women’s World Cup next year.
