Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will start a special drive from December 22-30 in order to eliminate culex mosquitoes.

DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam revealed this information at a meeting with different government agencies and departments at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.

Calling upon everyone to come forward to curb culex mosquitoes, the mayor said they have identified  925 hotspots, a significant number of which are in the areas of different government, autonomous and private organisations.

Any individual alone cannot control mosquitoes. The spread of mosquitoes is possible to control by cleaning houses and their adjoining places, he said.
