Tigresses to begin CWG qualifiers preparation in mid-December

Bangladesh women’s cricket team will begin their preparation camp from mid-December ahead of their upcoming ICC Commonwealth Games women’s cricket T20 qualifier.

The qualifier is schedule, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia starting from January next year.

Bangladesh Cricket Board women’s wing manager Towhid Mahmud confirmed the development to Daily Cricket on Sunday.

“We will take part in ICC Commonwealth Games T20 qualifier in Malaysia in next January. So we will begin preparation camp after a break. We are expected to start camp on December 15 or 16. As they are away from family for long days, we want to give an 8 or 9-day break before staring the camp,’’ said Touhid.

The camp venues has not selected yet. It will be decided within two or three days and it will be either in Dhaka or outside Dhaka.” he said.

 Nigar Sultana & Co will play the qualifying tournament to secure a place in Commonwealth Games women’s cricket event in Birmingham, London next year.

The prestigious multi-sport event is scheduled from July 28 to August 8 next year while the qualifying tournament will take place on later than January 31, 2022.
