Bangladesh like elsewhere of the globe will observe the 30th International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on Friday (December 3).

The country will also observe the 23rd National Disabled Day simultaneously.

The day is observed on every December 3 to help everyone become more compassionate and understand the challenges faced by people with disabilities.

This year, the theme for IDPD is “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

In a press release on Thursday, Ministry of Social Welfare said to have chalked out various programmes to observe the day across the country.

The programmes include beautification of main roads in the capital, holding of rallies and seminars and publication of supplements in the national dailies.

The ministry directed district level officials to observe the day properly to boost public awareness in this regard.
