Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said the educational institutions will be closed again if the Covid-19 situation in the country deteriorates.

The Minister also said that next year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams may be held in mid-2022.

She made the remarks while visiting an exam centre at Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College in the capital on the first day of HSC exams.

Besides, the results of HSC and its equivalent examinations will be published within 30 days, she said.

She added that there is no way to leak HSC exam questions, and that anyone who spreads rumours about a leak will face stern punishment.

Earlier, the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations began on Thursday morning under 11 education boards across the country.

Schools, colleges of the country were reopened on September 12 after a 17-month long closure.
