National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman has called upon the students to draw inspiration from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to inculcate a sense of patriotism, courage and self-respect among themselves.

“We have to groom up students as creative and patriotic citizens,” he said adding that these virtues are required not only for self-development, but also for standing tall in the world as worthy citizens of a proud nation.

The NU VC came up with this call on Thursday while addressing as a Chief Guest of an impromptu speech contest titled ‘My Bangabandhu”, arranged by Dhaka University Alumni Association for the university’s residential students marking Bangabandhu’s birth centenary.

Presided over by Professor Delwar Hossain, provost of Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall of DU, the progrmme witnessed the presence of senior leaders of DU Alumni Association, faculty members, officials and a good number of students.
