Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman said on Tuesday the government is taking all necessary initiatives to go into Covid-19 vaccine production from next year.
"Besides, Incepta has entered into an agreement with a Chinese company. They have full capacity to produce vaccines," he said while speaking at the "Meet the Reporters" programme organised by Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) in the city.
The remaining Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine doses as per the contract with India's Serum Institute will start coming from next month, he also said.
Salman F Rahman expressed hope that discipline will return to Dhaka's transport sector if the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project is completed in the next three to four years.
Among others, DRU President Mursalin Nomani and Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Khan were present on the occasion.
