Tarique Rahman's punishment must be executed

Awami League joint general secretary agriculturist AFM Bahauddin Nasim urged on Monday the authorities concerned to bring BNP’s acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman to home for execution of his punishment given by court in different cases.

He made the remarks while addressing a triennial council of Dhaka north city’s 22-No. ward Awami League at Wapda Power House ground in Rampura.

Nasim said Tarique Rahman was sentenced to seven years in prison for money laundering in Singapore, a life sentence in the August 21 grenade attack case and a fugitive accused of the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case for ten years.

Tarique Rahman is conspiring against the country, he said, “Our call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is to bring Tarique Rahman back to country for executing his sentence in various cases”.

Nasim said BNP-Jamaat wants to turn Bangladesh into a country of extremist communal forces .  “We will never allow that to happen under the leadership of  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.

Nasim said that the anti-liberation forces wanted to kill Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina several times. They wanted to make Awami League leaderless by launching a grenade attack on August 21, he said.

BNP-Jamaat have failed to wage any movement against the government as people of the country are with the AL.

A.K.M Rahmatullah, MP, was present as special guest in the conference.

SM Mannan Kochi, General Secretary of Dhaka North City AL, Joint General Secretary of Dhaka City North AL Matiur Rahman Moti, Organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Rana, Mizanur Rahman, Office Secretary William Pralay Samaddar Bappi and Co-Office Secretary Abdul Awal Sheikh, among others,  were present.
