Another person, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast in the capital on Saturday, died at a hospital in the capital, taking the death toll from the incident to 4.

Md Shafiq, 40, with 80% burn injuries, breathed his last at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 7:30pm on Tuesday.

SM Ayub Hossain, a residential surgeon of the institute, confirmed the death of Shafiq.

Earlier, Bishwanath Dutta, Abul Kalam and Md Ripon succumbed to burn injuries at the hospital.

On Saturday, six people received burn injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in a shop at the Janapath crossing of Jatrabari.
