Bangladesh archers Ruman Shana and Diya Siddique were eliminated from their respective recurve singles events of the ongoing 22nd Asian Archery Championship at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on Monday.

Shana was eliminated from the pre quarterfinal round as he lost to his compatriot Hakim Ahmed Rubel by 4-6 set points. However, Rubel also faced elimination from the quarterfinal after losing to South Korean archer Lee Seungyun by 2-6 set points.

The other two archers -- Ram Krishna Saha and Abdur Rahman Alif were eliminated from the pre quarterfinals after losing to Indian archer Salunke Parth and Korean archer Kim Pil-Joong by 4-6 and 0-6 respectively. 

In the recurve women’s category, Diya was eliminated after losing to South Korean archer Jung Dasomi by 1-7 set points in the quarterfinals.  Earlier, Diya beat Kazak archer Aruzhan by 6-4 in the round of 16, Indian archer Ankita by 6-4 points in pre-quarters. 

Among others, Srabony Akter lost to Indian archer Ridhi by 0-6 set points and Nasrin Akter lost to Korean archer Oh Yeajin by 4-6 in the pre quarterfinals while Beauty Roy lost to Kazak archer Tukebayeva Faridar by 2-6 in the round of 16.

Earlier, Srabony beat Vietnamese archer Thi Thanh Nhi by 6-5 and Nasrin beat Uzbek archer Munira by 6-2 in the round of 16. 

In the compound men’s category, Newaz Ahmed Rakib lost to Kazempour Amir of Iran by 143-145 score while Mohammad Ashikuzzaman lost to Khristich Sergey of Kazakhstan by 142-146 score in the pre quarterfinals.

Archer Asim Kumar Das lost to Palisban Mohammad Saleh of Iran by 147-148 score while Mohammad Sohel Rana lost to NGUYEN Van Day of Vietnam by 145-146 score in the round of sixteen in the same event.

In the compound women’s category, Shamoly Roy lost to OH Yoohyun of Korea by 138-149 score in the pre quarterfinal while Bonna Akter lost to SO Chaewon of Korea by 141-147 score in the round of 16.
