Kings’ two women booters fly to Maldives to play Futsal Fiesta

Bashundhara Kings women team’s captain Sabina Khatun and freestyler Matsushima Sumaiya left Dhaka to play for the Maldives Army Football Club in the upcoming Club Maldives Women’s Futsal Fiesta beginning from November 20.

The club official SM Wasimuzzaman informed The Daily Sun that Bangladesh Football Federation was sending them to the competition.

“Bangladesh Football Federation sent them to play there. They have managed all things. We just gave the clearance,” Wasimuzzaman said.

Bangladesh national women’s team head coach Golam Rabbani Choton informed that the duo left Dhaka (Wednesday) this afternoon.

Both Sabina and Sumaiya will play six matches each for the Maldivian club.

However, Sabina earlier played in the Maldives domestic leagues three times while Sumaiya for the first time.

The Kings captain played for Police Football Club in the Futsal Fiesta in 2015 and the Maldives Defense Force in Futsal Fiesta and FAM Women’s Football Championship in 2016.
