Bangladesh Premier League outfit Saif Sporting Club Limited appointed former Bangladesh national team head coach Diego Andres Cruciani as their new coach for the next domestic season.
The 55-year old Argentine coach was introduced officially during a signing ceremony at the Saif Powertec office in Mohakhali on Saturday.
After leaving the national team, he took charge of Dhaka Abahani Limited in the inaugural professional football league in 2007.
“I always wanted to come back to Bangladesh. When I started talking with Saif, I was very glad, very happy. Everybody wants success, my plan is also that. But it’s not easy. I will try my best. Not speaking, just working,” Cruciani told the reporters.
Cruciani, who played for Argentina U-20s, also worked as the head coach of Haiti in 2002-03 and Maldives in 2009-2011. He also managed different clubs in Argentina, USA and Cameron during his coaching career.
Saif SC, which reached the final in the Federation Cup, finished fourth in the last edition of BPL.
