The national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines resumed flight operations on Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar route on Tuesday.
A flight carrying passengers to the beach city left Osmani International Airport in Sylhet at 12:45pm on the day.
Biman has been operating flights on this route since November 12 last year. However, flights were suspended from April due to the second wave of coronavirus and government restrictions across the country.
Tahera Khandaker also said that Biman is going to increase the number of flights on the Saidpur-Cox’s Bazar-Saidpur route from today. Only a Biman flight was operated on this route in the previous week but two flights will be operated per week from today.
According to Biman, the flight will leave Saidpur every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:20am for Cox’s Bazar. It will leave Cox’s Bazar for Saidpur at 2:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
