Four people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in the capital on Sunday.
In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp Inspector Mozammel Haque said M Kamal Hossain, 35, son of Abdus Salam of Subitpur in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district, sustained injuries as a bus ran him over while crossing the road near Thanarpar bus stand in Demra area around 5:30pm.
Kamal was taken to the DMCH where he died around 6:15pm, reports UNB.
A motorcycle carrying Mizanur Rahman, 45, son of late Abdul Hai Mollah of City Lane in Savar, and another man, M Nasir, overturned on the road in Chand Udayan Housing area of Mohammadpur around 5:30pm after the bike was hit by a pickup, leaving them injured.
They were taken to the DMCH where doctors declared Mizanur dead.
A couple –- Roksana alias Rita, 25, and her husband Nadim of Sonyasipara in Mohammadpur -- suffered injuries as a pickup hit their bike in Gabtali Sluice Gate area around 8:30pm.
They were rushed to the DMCH where Rita died around 9:25pm.
A moving bus hit an unidentified man, aged around 42, while he was crossing the road under Khilkhet Flyover around 6:30m, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, aged around 32, died on the spot after she was hit by a moving train at Kosaibari level crossing near Airport railway Station around 5:30pm.
