Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that if basic values ​​like tolerance, peaceful coexistence and patriotism are inculcated in the minds of children, they will build the enlightened human world of tomorrow.

She was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding session of the cultural program titled 'World Children's Day and Child Rights Week 2021' organized by the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs on Saturday.

She said that in order to take all the benefits of information technology, children have to be trained from an early age.

She further said that 17 years before the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Bangabandhu had included children in the Constitution of 1972, which contained provisions for special measures or legislation for the advancement of backward children.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira presided over the function and Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Md Saidul Islam delivered the welcome address. Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Lucky Inam spoke as the special guest.
