National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem said on Tuesday the tax fair would not take place this year too because of the COVID-19 pandemic but the taxpayers would get all the tax related services at the taxes zones across the country in the environment of tax fair.
"Due to the COVID-19 situation, we're not being able to hold the tax fair like the previous year. But we'll ensure the tax fair-like environment at all the circles and taxes zones across the country like the previous year. The taxpayers will get all the tax related services there," he said.
Muneem said that the taxpayers would be able to submit their returns from November 1 to November 30 at 649 circles under 31 taxes zones. Besides, there will be special service booths, including one at Bangladesh Secretariat, to facilitate the return submission by the public servants.
The officials and employees at Bangladesh Secretariat would be able to take services from the booth from November 1 to November 14 which would save their time.
Besides, they would also be able to submit their income tax returns at Officers Club. The members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces would be able to submit their returns on November 9 and 10 at Dhaka Cantonment. The highest tax paying 141 persons would be honoured on November 24.
