In-person academic activities including classes and examinations resumed at Dhaka University (DU) today (Sunday) after more than 18 months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On the first day of the reopening, the students attended classes and examinations cheerfully maintaining health guidelines.
"The attendance was hundred percent and the students participated in the class maintaining health guidelines," he added.
The university Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman along with other top officials visited various classrooms and exam halls at the Arts Building of the university on the day.
He expressed satisfaction as the students attended the classes in compliance with health guidelines and physical distancing.
The VC said that 100 per cent students of the university received at least first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
He added that the Loss Recovery Plan formulated by the Academic Council of the university will be followed to compensate the students for the loss of education.
Honours final year and master’s students returned to their halls on October 5 while 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students moved to their dormitories on October 10.
