Prof DrMunaz Ahmed Noor, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Digital University (BDU), Bangladesh, has seen his name in the list of world’s top scientists.
The development came as AD Scientific Index 2021 published its global ranking lists of scientists on Sunday.
A press release sent by the BDU said Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor has been recognized as one of the top scientists of the globe for his contribution to and publications on concrete technology, urban safety, climate change, earthquake disaster study and other fields of science.
The BDU family has accorded a floral reception to its Vice-Chancellor Prof DrMunaz Ahmed Noor for achieving the recognition.
Registrar of the university Md Ashraf Uddin, head of education department MdAshrafuzzaman, head of ICT department FarzanaAkter, Asst Prof Shamsuddin Ahmed, ICT department and senior system analyst MdShahinulKabir were present on the occasion.
Prof DrMunaz has a chequered academic and administrative career. Earlier, he discharged responsibilities as vice-chancellor of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) and pro-VC of the National University (NU).
Completing study from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), he joined as university teacher. He obtained PhD degree from University of Tokyo in 2000 and post-doctoral on seismology in 2007. He attended in PPP in the Netherlands in 2005. He received on nuclear power plant in Italy in 2008.
In a reaction to his name in AD Scientific Index 2021 list, he paid the credit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who gave timely instructions to be followed.
“I tender my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving me valuable guidelines all the time. It has been possible for me to achieve the recognition for the premier. I will try to contribute more to the fields of science and education in the future”, he said.
