National Identity (NID) card identification machines are going to be installed at National Parliament.

The NID cards of visitors who are going to the Parliament for various reasons, will be identified by the machine.

Sources of the Parliament said the decision has been taken in order to protect the Parliament from various threats.

Without vat-tax fees, members of parliament will have to pay Tk 5 lakh for once and renewal fees Tk 1 lakh. Users of NID cards will have to pay Tk 1 each.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting titled “ICT infrastructure of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, and human resource and technology skills development” presided over by Sangsad secretary KM Abdus Salam.
