Eminent sports organiser Shahed Asgar Chowdhury breathed his last in Chattogram on Friday morning.
He was 83. He was a former Bangladesh Cricket Board member and also the president of Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Asgar Chowdhury had been a key figure in the sports circle of Chattogram. A sportsman himself in his youth, he was one of the main architects of the popular competition of the Port City Star Summer Cricket Tournament. He had served as the General Secretary of Chattogram Jela Krira Sangstha (CJKS).
BCB and other sports organisations expressed heartfelt condolences and profound sympathies to the family of the departed and prayed for the salvation of his soul.
