Model Faria Mahbub Piasa was sent to jail after completion of her two-day remand in a case over alleged “rape and murder” of college girl Mosarat Jahan Munia.
Sources at Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) claimed to have extracted sensational information from Piasa during remand.
After a thorough investigation, police submitted Final Report to the court on July 19, saying allegation against Sayem Sobhan Anvir was not proved.
The court received the report on July 22. After hearing, the court acquitted the lone accused of the suicide inciting charges on August 18.
At the same time, the court also dismissed the Naraji (no confidence) petition submitted by Nusrat against the police report which led to an end of the false case.
Six days into the dismissal of the case, Nusrat filed another case with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 of Dhaka.
In the second case, Nusrat accused same Bashundhara Group Managing Director, his wife, parents, Piasa and flat owner of allegedly “raping and murdering” Munia.
The model is behind the bar in several cases involving cocktail party and immoral activities in her residence participated by young girls and businessmen.
According to statement of Piasa, Nusrat first made a phone call to her in an evening and sought permission to meet her. After getting permission, Nusrat along with her younger sister Munia came to her flat. Munia was beautiful. Nusrat expressed her sister’s obsession for modeling and acting. She sought some help so that Munia can be cast in drama and cinema. After three days, Nusrat called again and wanted to meet. She was asked to bring her sister in modern dress and attend a DJ party where cinema directors and other renowned people were supposed to be present. Munia was asked to wear modern dress considering opportunity to be liked by any director and cast. This is how Munia started to visit Baridhara residence and attend the party.
After the country’s was hit by corona pandemic, Munia sent Piasa SMS mentioning her inability o survive in Dhaka and sought some financial help. In response, Piasa gave her Tk 50,000. Munia went to village home.
Later, Munia came back to Dhaka and made further contact. Piasa informed her that no party was taking place in the flat on account of corona pandemic. Since then, Piasa had no contact with two siblings-- Nusrat and Munia.
Piasa informed the police that Nusrat introduced Munia with various influential people in Dhaka. She used to sell beauty of her younger sister and blackmail affluent and influential people for personal gain. Like a sycophant, Nusrat used to survive with the money of her sister.
However, Piasa expressed her ignorance of the murder. She said to have no contact with other accused in the case.
During investigation, the model told police that Munia might have committed suicide. Munia used to quarrel with her elder sister Nusrat over financial issues.
