Bangladesh slips 2 steps in Passport Index

In the Henley Passport Index, Bangladesh has moved two notches down compared to last year securing 108th position.

The country ranked 106th in July last year. The ranking was published in UK based organisation Henley Passport Index.

At present, Bangladeshi passports holders can visit more than 40 countries without advance visa.

According to the index, three countries of South Asia are behind Bangladesh this year.

Of those, Nepal oscores the 110th position, Pakistan 113th, and Afghanistan 116th.

North Korea also ranked after Bangladesh in the index with a score of 109.

Moreover, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Lebanon and Iran secured position before Bangladesh with a score of 107.

In addition, Maldives ranked 66 in the index, India 90, Bhutan 96 and Myanmar 102.

Passports of Japan and Singapore are the most powerful passport. 

Without advance visa, Japan and Sigapore passport-holders can travel  in 192 countries.

Apart from this, South Korea and Germany occupied the second position together in the index.
