The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) reopened its student halls on a limited scale from Monday morning for Bachelor and Master’s final year students after 18 months of closure.

The students were showing the Covid vaccine certificates of at least one dose and the valid student identification cards at the hall entrance at 8:00am.

The students overwhelmed as they entered into the halls after a long hiatus of 18 months following Covid-19 pandemic.

The decision to reopen halls has been finalised on Saturday evening (September 18) at a syndicate meeting at Nawab Ali Chowdhury senate building auditorium at DU campus with DU vice chancellor (VC) professor Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
