Temporary vaccination centre inaugurated at DU

 A temporary vaccination centre has been inaugurated at Dhaka University's Martyred Intellectual Dr Muhammad Murtaza Medical Centre for its teachers, students, officials and employees.

DU Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman formally inaugurated the vaccination campaign on Monday at 9:30am which will be continued till October 17, said a press release.

DU students, teachers and officials and employees will be able to receive vaccines through on-spot registration with NID or the Identity Card of the university based on some conditions. However, initially, vaccines will be provided to only the people have NID cards, added the release.

Those who registered for vaccines with the following centers- Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Government Employee Hospital and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, but did not get the vaccine yet will also be able to get vaccinated during the campaign. 

Students, who get the first doze of vaccines from the mentioned centers, will be able to receive second doze from university's temporary vaccination centre.

However, students who registered for vaccines from other centers will have to receive vaccines from the respective center, according to the release. 

Dhaka University Health Board Chairman and Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Moammad Samad, Pro-VC (Education) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam were present during the inauguration programme. The drive for the second dose will begin from November 1.
