On Sunday afternoon, Belal Hossain, a constable at National Emergency Service 999, received a phone call in which a father was yowling that his nine-year-old daughter was raped by one of his close relatives. The helpless father sought help from police to take action against the culprit.

The hatred incident occurred at Boraipur under Kotwali in Dinajpur on the day afternoon.

Belal noted name and address of the accused and informed senior officers at the service 999 of the matter, said Anwar Sattar, inspector (trainer and focal person media and public relations) at the 999.

One of the senior officers at the 999 called the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station and directed the OC to take action immediately, he said.

Being directed, the cops of the police station rushed to the spot and arrested the rapist Rabbikul Islam Nayan, 20, son of Rashidul Islam, from the Boraipur area on that day, the officer said.

He added later, he was indicted in a rape case filed with the police station.
