Shakib likely to make a cut against SRH

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to make his first appearance in the UAE-leg of Indian Premier League as he will make a cut on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai.

KKR’s head coach Brendon McCullum confirmed the return of Shakib for KKR in a statement.

“Shakib will soon be available as well. We have a lot of options. Tim Seifert has been exceptional in the CPL 2021. We wanted to strengthen the middle order. Shakib is always in the mix when you talk about selection. His skills set with left-arm bowling and batting, we consider him as top 3 batters but definitely, he can fit in the middle order somewhere. He will be in the mix for sure in the next game,” Brendon McCullum said.

Shakib is yet to play a single match for KKR in UAE leg while his franchise is having a rough patch as they are now facing a must-win situation in the to remain in the race.

KKR’s skipper Morgan was slammed by KKR fans in twitter and other social media after defeat in their last match.

Even former India cricketer Aakash Chopra questioned Morgan’s captaincy. He suggested that the Kolkata based team should replace Morgan with Shakib as the captain.

KKR lost five matches out of five games so far in UAE leg and they managed just 10 points from 12 games and it put their playoffs in doubt and now they have to win their remain fixtures against Hyderabad Sunrisers and Rajasthan Royals to qualify for the playoffs.
