Covid-19: 23 deaths, 860 cases reported in 24 hours in Bangladesh

Bangladesh on Thursday logged 23 more coronavirus or Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of deaths has reached 27,510, and the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent.

Besides, 860 new cases have been diagnosed from Covid-19 infection during this period, raising the total caseload to 1,555,911.

Of the deceased, 11 were men and 12 were women. The government hospitals registered  20 deaths while private hospitals recorded  three deaths. 

In the past 24 hours, the country reported 3.24 percent positivity rate after testing 26,569 samples at different laboratories.

A press release signed by Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), revealed this information this afternoon.

Earlier on Wednesday (September 29), 17 deaths and 1,178 cases from the virus were recorded in the country.
