Bangla Academy holds Seminar on Sheikh Hasina’s birthday

Bangla Academy has held a seminar marking the 75th birthday of HPM Sheikh Hasina at their Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium on Tuesday 28, September 2021.

Professor Dr Rashid Askari, eminent Bengali-English writer and columnist and Islamic University former vice-chancellor, presented the keynote paper under the title of ‘'Sheikh Hasina: In the Light of Multidimensional Creativity'' at the seminar. State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, MP was virtually present at the programme as chief guest while renowned poet M Nurul Huda, also Director General of Bangla Academy, delivered welcome address at the event. Dr. Rafiqul Islam, National Professor of Bangladesh and also president of Bangla Academy chaired the programme while Bangla Academy Director (Sales, Marketing and Reprint) Dr Jalal Ahmed was present as a discussant.

Professor Dr Rashid Askari in his keynote speech elaborately discussed Sheikh Hasina’s illustrious life-- her political vision and career, her commitment to the heritage of Bengali nationalism, her role as a statesman in the geopolitics of South-East and South Asia, her role as a global leader and her lifelong struggle for human rights with historical references and allusions.

Dr. Askari said, “Sheikh Hasina’s leadership is a winning combination of patriotism, courage and confidence. She has taken Bangladesh to new heights. Bangabandhu has given us independence and Sheikh Hasina is giving us progress and prosperity”. Dr. Askari has urged people to work together—hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership with a view to realizing the  dreams of Bangabandhu.
