Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti- crime drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with 4,298 pieces of contraband yaba tablets in Naogaon district last night.

The arrestee was identified as Ashraful Islam, 23, son of Ibrahim Ali of Karnakhali village under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.

RAB sources said on information, a team of the elite force, conducted a raid in Gandhashail village under Niamatpur upazila and arrested him with the yaba tablets at around 8.25 pm.

A case was recorded with Niamatpur police station in this connection and the arrested person along with the seized goods was handed over to police this noon.
