Sheikh Hasina's birthday celebrated at Bangamata University

The 75th birthday of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was celebrated on Tuesday (September 28) at Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) campus.

The day's program began at 10:00 AM with hoisting of the national flag and the university flag on the campus. Invited guests and university teachers-students and staff, Vice-Chancellor Prof Syed Samsuddin Ahmed and Treasurer Mr Mohammad Abdul Mannan inaugurated the program by flying pigeons and balloons as a symbol of peace.

Later, a procession led by the Vice-Chancellor was brought out. The procession started from the administrative building of the BSFMSTU and encircled the road adjacent to the campus.

At the end of the procession, the birthday of the Prime Minister was celebrated by cutting a cake and lighting 75 candles at the university premises. After a discussion meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof Syed Samsuddin Ahmed delivered his speech as the chief guest.

He said Sheikh Hasina, a lifelong fighter for the construction of Bangabandhu's Golden Bengal and a visionary of development, has been working tirelessly to build a happy, prosperous non-communal Bangladesh. Everybody should work with honesty and dedication from their respective places in order to realize Bangabandhu's dream.

Prof Dr Sushanta Kumar Bhattacharya, Dean of the Faculty of Science, was chaired the programme. And Mr. Abdul Mannan, Treasurer of BSFMSTU, Jamalpur Pourasova Mayor Alhaj Sanowar Hossain Sanu, Melandah Upazila Parishad Chairman Engineer Kamruzzaman, Melandah Upazila Awami League President Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah and General Secretary Mr. Jinnah spoke as a special guest.
