Bangladesh Football Federation delayed the announcement of 23-member national team for SAFF as they are waiting for the clearance of Nigeria-born Bangladeshi forward Eleta Kingsley.
Bangladesh Football Federation was expected to finalize a 23-member national team for SAFF in a press conference today at its house, but interim coach Oscar Bruzon delayed the announcement till completing the day's practice session.
"We have training today. It is our last session in Dhaka. We will announce the team after the practice,’’ Bruzon said on Monday.
‘’Eleta's decision and COVID-19 reports will come in the evening," he added.
Dhaka Abahani defender Md Ridoy likely to be added in the team. Chittagong Abahani midfielder Manik Hossain Mollah, Mohammedan defender Md Atikuzzaman and Moktijoddha SKC defender Mehedi Hasan will may be excluded from the final squad.
However, the team have already undergone COVID-19 tests, the reports will be known today.
The team will hold their last practice session today at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 4 pm.
Bangladesh will fly for Maldives on Tuesday at 2:10 pm. They will play against Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and Nepal on Oct 1, 4, 7 and 13 respectively at the National Stadium in Male.
