Three chilli-laden trucks arrived in Bangladesh by Hilli land port from India on Saturday.
After a two-month stoppage of imports from the country, the supply of raw chilli is low now. Green chilli is being imported due to increased price in the open market in the country.
Sources said the cultivation of raw chilli was damaged due to flood. As a result, there is crisis of green chillies in the market.
“Due to reasonable price, we import green chillies from India every year,” Green chilli importer and also president of the importer group, Harun-Ur-Rashid said.
If production increases, the price of chillies may reduce, he said.
