Rajshahi, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions have registered no deaths from Covid-19 on Thursday.
Although Bangladesh reported 24 deaths and 1,144 infections from coronavirus over the last 24 hours till Thursday morning amid a steady fall in virus fatalities, cases and positivity rate, the three divisions made significant development in controlling deaths.
With this, the number of single-day deaths remained below 50 for seven days in a row.
The country reported daily positivity rate below 5 percent for three consecutive days with 4.61 percent recorded in the last 24 hours after 4.79 percent on Wednesday and 4.69 percent on Tuesday.
According to health experts, the Covid-19 situation is considered under control if the positivity rate remains below 5 percent for two consecutive weeks.
Highest 264 deaths were recorded in the country on August 5 and August 10 while record 16,230 cases were reported on July 28.
The number of total infections has risen to 1,548,320 with an overall positivity rate of 16.21 percent while the national death toll has increased to 27,337 with a case fatality rate of 1.77 per cent.
Highest corona deaths and infections in the last 24 hours were registered in Dhaka division.
Of the 24 fresh deaths, 11 were reported in Dhaka division while six in Chattogram, three in Khulna and Sylhet each while death was logged in Rangpur division.
Of the 1,144 new cases, 766 were registered in Dhaka division while 24 in Mymensingh, 165 in Chattogram, 45 in Rajshahi, 36 in Rangpur, 53 in Khulna, 21 in Barishal and 34 in Sylhet division.
A total of 24,820 samples, out of 24,868 collected, were tested at 814 labs in the country during the period. With this, 9,551,970 samples have so far been tested across the country.
