Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has urged the parents not to send any student with Covid-19-like symptoms to educational institute.

She made this remark after a programme at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Thursday.

Dr Dipu Moni said, “We all have to be alert. We have asked guardians not to send any school or college student who has Covid-19-like symptoms, or someone in the family has such symptoms.”

The education minister said, “Student may be infected with Covid-19 at home or on way to educational institute. We are aware in this regard. If anything happens anywhere, contract tracing will be done. But it is still good that nothing has happened like this at secondary or higher secondary level educational institute.”

She said, “Students should not be compelled to attend classes. Instead of that the reason behind student’s absence in the institution will have to identify. But students should not be forced to come to class in person anyway. Because, any student is unable to attend class physically will get the opportunity of classes through online or television.”
