Some 46 Bangladeshi passengers were sent to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday on a trial basis after testing coronavirus at temporary lab at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
Group Captain Touhid-ul Ahsan, Executive Director of HSIA, confirmed the news on Wednesday night. He said the passengers were boarded at the airport when all their coronavirus test result came negative.
The UAE authorities will arrange another coronavirus test for them through RT-PCR laboratory when the flight will land at Dubai International Airport.
According to airport sources, samples of 46 passengers were tested at the mobile laboratory set up in the parking zone of the airport after collecting those in front of the health department on the second floor of the terminal of HSIA on Wednesday afternoon.
Health officer of HSIA Shahriar Sajjad told that 46 passengers had been sent to the United Arab Emirates on an Emirates flight. Some 50 passengers were supposed to travel to the Gulf State but 4 among them could not reach the airport in time.
He also said that the passengers will have to undergo a corona test at the Dubai International Airport. If the results come negative, they will enter the country. However, the UAE authorities will take necessary measures including isolation and quarantine if any of the 46 passengers are tested positive there.
