Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said train service from Dohazahri (Chandanaish upazila of Chattogram) to Cox’s Bazar route will begin on December 16, 2022.

However, the construciton of the rail track was scheduled to complete in June of that year.

The work was delayed due to coronavirus pandemic and problem of acquiring lands of some government establishments.  

The minister made the remarks while visiting single line dual gauge track building project from Dohazari to Ramu via Cox’s Bazar and Ramu to Gundum near Myanmar border on Wednesday.
