‘Over 60pc corona patients lost lives in Bangladesh suffered from diabetes, hypertension’

Spokesperson and Director of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Robed Amin has said 63.05 percent out of 27, 277 people who died of coronavirus in the country suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure (hypertension).

In addition, most of the people who suffered from non-communicable diseases like chest, kidney ailment, asthma, cardiac and thyroid died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh. The death rate is high among the people aged 50 to 80.

Prof Robed came up with this information while briefing on corona related virtual bulletin on Wednesday.
