Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had gifted a riverine ambulance to Charfashion Hospital in Bhola in Aprill last year for extending healthcare facilities to people.

The ambulance was meant for giving proper treatment to critically ill people and  quickly sending pregnant women to Upazila Health Complex.

One year into commencement, the ambulance has become dilapidated due to lack of proper care.

Sources said there is no separate hospital for the people of water encircled Charfashion Sadar Upazila.

A total of Tk1,195,500 was spent to build the water ambulance having capacity to carry at least 15 to 20 people.

At present the ‘Manush Ambulance’ is out of order.
