Covid-19: Country sees 35 deaths, 2,074 new cases in 24 hours

Thirty-five more coronavirus or Covid-19 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.

Besides, a total of 2,074 new cases of Covid-19 infection were recorded during the period.

Today's death toll from coronavirus, however, is the lowest in the country in 99 days.  

The latest situation of coronavirus was revealed in a health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday afternoon.

According to DGHS, the total number of deaths from Covid-19 recorded as of now is 27,007. On the other hand, the total number of coronavirus infection stands at 1534440 till now.  

As many as 3,735 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The total number of recoveries in Bangladesh now stands at 14,86,668 while the recovery rate is 96.89 percent.

During the period, the laboratories across the country tested some 31,724 samples. The positivity rate is 6.54 percent against sample tests in the last 24 hours.  

Of the 35 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, there are 21 men while 14 are women.

Dhaka division counted 15 deaths, Chattogram division eight, Rajshahi division 4, Khulna division 5, Barishal division two and Sylhet division recorded two deaths from Covid-19 in the last one day in Bangladesh.
