Bangladesh received an injury scare ahead of the upcoming ICC World T20 as opener Soumya Sarkar sustained an injury on his left shoulder during a practice session before the fourth T20 international against New Zealand on Wednesday.
The left-handed batsman was seen struggling with the pain while returning from the indoor nets before the start of the game.
Soumya, who failed to get a place in the playing XI in the New Zealand series due to his lack of form, is expected to make a cut in Bangladesh’s 15-member ICC World T20 squad.
The team management confirmed to The Daily Sun that they are observing his situation and can’t comment before watching him for the next 24 hours as they are expected to get a clear picture by that time.
Bangladesh are expected to announce the squad for the global event on Thursday.
