Bangladesh government has highly appreciated Japan for completing the delivery of more than 3 million AstrZeneca vaccines.
Japan came forward to provide the vaccines when lakhs of Bangladeshis had been waiting for months for the second doses of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.
They said Japan has been always supporting Bangladesh in the fight against COVID-19 and hoped such assistance will continue and the government will effectively utilize the vaccines for the people of Bangladesh.
Yamaya Hiroyuki, Chargéd’ Affaires of the Embassy of Japan said that Japan has completed the delivery of more than 3 million AstrZeneca vaccines on Saturday (Aug 28), which Japan had committed to Bangladesh.
“Those vaccines already handed over to Bangladesh government have been inoculated to people, some of whom had been long waiting for the second shot of the AstraZeneca vaccines, and contributing to increasing the vaccination rate in the country. I hope those vaccines will contribute to the Bangladesh government's efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
