Dhaka’s rail link with Khulna resumes after 12hrs, probe body formed

Dhaka’s rail communication with Khulna was restored after twelve hours of disruption following derailment of four bogies of an oil laden train at Uthli Railway Station of Chuadanga’s Jibannagar upazila early hours of Monday.

Uthli Railway Station Master Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.

He said that the train communications on Dhaka-Khulna routes was restored at around 12:00 pm after the rescue train cleared the track.

A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the derailment of four bogies of the oil-laden train.

Anwar Hossain, Transport Officer (DTO) of Pakshi Divisional Railway of Western Railway, was made convener of the committee while Pakshi Divisional Engineer-1 Birbal Mandal, Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Carriage) Mamtazul Islam, (Loco) Ashish Kumar Mandal, Divisional Signals-Telecommunication Engineer Rajib Billah will perform as members.
