Two Rohingyas held with 40,000 Yaba tablets

The Department of Narcotics of Control (DNC) arrested two Rohingyas with 40,000 Yaba tablets in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.

They are identified as Jamal Hossain, 20, son of Syed Hossain and Nurul Haque, 21, son of Iman Hossain, said a press release of the DNC headquarters.

According to the bulletin, a team of the DNC led by its Assistant Director (AD) Sirajul Mostafa conducted a raid at Unchiprang refugee camp in Teknaf and Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya.

The team members held the duo with 40,000 Yaba pills from there.

During the primarily interrogation, the arrestees said that they had been dealing the drugs for a long time.

Earlier, local people also informed the DNC that the duo was involved in the drug trade.

The AD filed a case against them with Teknaf Police Station.
