Padma river flowing 44 cm above danger level

The water of Padma river is flowing 10 centimetres above the danger level in Faridpur on Saturday.

At the same time increasing river erosion, causing suffering of thousands of people.

Executive Engineer of Faridpur Water Development Board Md Sultan Mahmud confirmed the information.

Erosion has occurred in Padma River in two unions of Faridpur Sadar upazila, Arial Khan and Madhukhali in four unions of Sadarpur upazila and Modhumoti River in Alfadanga upazila, he said.

Geo-bags filled with sand are being dumped in the rivers to prevent erosion, Sultan Mahmud said.
