JS body for fresh projects to provide training to women

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Women and Children Affairs on Wednesday recommended taking up fresh projects to provide training to women in all the city corporation areas across the country to make them more efficient.
 
The committee came up with the proposal at its 24th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Meher Afroze Chumki in the chair, said a press release here.
 
Committee members Md Abdul Aziz, Shabnam Jahan, Syeda Rashida Begum, Sahadara Mannan, and Begum Kaniz Fatema Ahmed attended the meeting, among others.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, the committee members observed a minute of silence by standing in memory of those martyred on August 15, 1975, August 21, 2004, and died of Coronavirus so far in the country.
 
A special munajat was also offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls.
 
The committee thanked all the people concerned for arranging the program to present five Bangladeshi women Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Award to recognize their contributions to the society marking the 92nd birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
