ICT-1 member Justice Amir Hossain passes away

Justice Amir Hossain, member of International Crimes Tribunal-1, died at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday morning.

He breathed his last at at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at 7:55am, Supreme Court's spokesman and Special Officer of the High Court Division Mohammad Saifur Rahman said.

Born on November 30, 1957, Justice Amir Hossain obtained LLB and LLM degrees from Dhaka University and joined judiciary as Munsef on February 22, 1984.

He was promoted as District and Sessions Judges on May 6, 2009. Justice Hossain was elevated as Additional Judge at the High Court Division on February 12, 2015. He became a permanent Judge at the High Court Division two years later.

Justice Hossain was appointed as a member of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on October 11, 2017.
