Bashundhara Group stands by 3,000 families in C’nawabganj

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, has distributed relief among 3,000 distressed families in Chapainawabganj so far.

As part of longstanding relief operation in various parts of the country, the Group continues to extend food supports to the people in Chapainawabganj.

The Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed vernacular dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided the relief through its social organisation Shuvasangha.

On Friday, Bashundhara Group distributed relief among 400 families at Moharajpur Esma Khatun Chowdhury College premises in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, taking a total of 3,000 families in five upazilas under the district.

A relief package includes 10kg rice, 3kg lentil and 3kg flour given to each of the families.

Md Tota, a poor farmer, rejoiced the relief and prayed for welfare of the Bashundhara Group for standing beside the poor people.

“Being poor, we are happy with the relief. By the grace of Almighty Allah, we have got the food support amid Covid-19 pandemic. The relief will meet our family’s food demand for at least 10-12 days. May Allah bless owner of the Bashundhara Group. We also wish gradual development of the Group ,” he said.

Another relief recipient named Chhabi Begum expressed happiness with the food support and prayed to Allah for further expansion of Bashundhara Group so that it can always stand by the vulnerable people.

Speaking on the occasion, former social welfare secretary Md Zillur Rahman said “Bashundhara Group has stood beside you amid corona pandemic, providing food supports for 10-12 days. Let us pray for gradual development of the country’s largest corporate house. I would like tender my thanks and gratitude to the Group.”

Shuvasangha director Zakaria Jaman, Bangladesh Pratidin and News24 district correspondent Md Rafikul Alam and Daily Sun district correspondent Kamal Sukrana, were present, among others.
