Bashundhara Kings will receive Tk 48.55 lakh as compensation from the Asian Football Confederation for their financial losses for the sudden postponement of AFC Cup 2021 earlier this year.
Kings, who were scheduled to fly to Maldives on May 9 to take part in AFC Cup Group D matches, were informed at the very last stage that the proposed group stage matches were postponed.
The AFC finally confirmed that they will give Kings a total of USD 57,407.50 as compensation for their flight cancellation and hotel cancellation three months after the incident.
“We are pleased to inform that the AFC will undertake the cost of the ticket accommodation cancellation fee amounting to USD 57, 157.50 (US Dollar Fifty-Seven Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-Seven and Cent Fifty Only),” AFC said in a letter to Bangladesh Football Federation General Secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag.
“The payment of which will be processed and remitted directly to Bashundhara Kings,” it added.
