Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has urged the non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) businessmen to invest in their motherland, saying that an excellent investment-friendly environment is now prevailing in Bangladesh.
“The government has announced a good number of attracting packages with numerous facilities to attract both local and foreign investment. All the investment related services have been brought in one door, from which speedy services are being delivered with less cost...as a result, the interest of investors has increased a lot,” he said.
Mentioning that some 100 special economic zones (SEZs) are being set in the country under the auspices of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Tipu said work of many SEZs is nearing completion while local and foreign investors have already started to make investments.
“The NRB businessmen in USA will be benefitted if they invest in SEZs in Bangladesh,” he added.
Noting that the NRBs in USA are playing a vital role towards the welfare of Bangladesh, the commerce minister hoped that they would contribute more towards the economic development of the country.
