Zahid joined the organization in 2016 being inspired by the then Amir of the new JMB, Musa, through an online ID called 'Mufti of the White House'.

Later, the Neo-JMB appointed him as a trainer of the military branch for his expertise in chemistry and courage, the CTTC chief said. He said now the Neo-JMB became weakened organizationally as its top leaders have been arrested ,and some were killed in a series of raids by the CTTC and the law enforcement agencies.

Zahid, who was caught yesterday, went into hiding to avoid arrest. But again he took initiative to reorganize the organization under the leadership of the new Amir.

Neo-JMB Zahid also held meeting at Rohingya camps several times for expanding the organization's activities, Asaduzzaman added.

Zahid also received karate training from the Mirpur Indoor Stadium under Bangladesh Karate Federation to increase his physical fitness, he said.

The CTTC chief informed that Zahid had a plan to make IEDs with explosive from a big chemical supply company.
